FOODTECH: FRESH RESEARCH CHANNEL
Welcome to the newest edition of the Coller Startup Competition: The Fresh Research Track.
This track is tailored for researchers conducting groundbreaking studies poised to revolutionize the world and the future of the food industry.
The winners of this competition track will receive support and a professional package from Fresh Start Incubator to fast-track their application to the Innovation Authority's “Directing Academic Applied Research to Industrial Applications” (הכוונת ידע ישומי באקדמיה ליישום בתעשיה) program.
Fresh Start is the commercial partner for the 550K NIS IIA research grant application and will provide the 10% financial counterpart, as required by the program. Click here to downlad the detailed IIA program.
The winners will undergo Fresh Start's investment committee approval and the IIA's investment committee approval to receive the grant.
After completing the application, the internal judging committee will go through all the applications.
Each applicant will receive a notification via email, once the judges have made the final decision.

Fields of research
Research fields are broad, as long as they are aiming to provide solutions for a healthier and more sustainable food industry: from protein alternatives to nutrition tech, packaging, waste reduction, novel ingredients, and much more.
Who can apply
We welcome researchers from any certified or academic research center to apply, with successful results supporting their research hypothesis.
IMPORTANT
The competition scope DOES NOT cover ventures which aide or facilitate the production of animals. This includes, but is not limited to:

Fresh Start FoodTech Incubator is part of the Israeli Innovation Authority’s incubators’ program and is a significant part of the Israel’s Foodtech scene. Established in 2020, the incubator specializes in venture creation and in academic tech transfer.
